BakBone to co-sponsor and parcitipate in 19-city data backup and recovery roadshow
BakBone Software to demonstrate next version of disk-to-disk-to-tape solution.
STOCKHOLM, Sweden – January 28, 2004 - BakBone Software, a global provider of data protection software, will kick off a four-month backup and recovery roadshow February 3 in Denmark, Copenhagen, as part of a 19-city educational tour across Europe, Scandinavia and South Africa. Partnering with Overland Storage, a provider of backup and recovery solutions, the roadshow entitled "The Future of Backup and Recovery: The Way Ahead," will bring together leading names in storage including BakBone, Cisco, HP, Overland Storage, Quantum, and Veritas.
Each city venue will offer registrants the opportunity to participate with data storage management experts through a series of in-depth presentations and discussions. Interested parties can register online at www.futureofstorage.com.
“Roadshow seminars will explore the impact government legislation will have on data retention specific to storage limits, archiving and retrieval," explained Sean Jackson, marketing manager EMEA at BakBone Software. “This roadshow is ideal for end-users who want to increase their knowledge on the different approaches to data storage, as well as highlights the solutions available in today’s IT environment and key decision-making criteria customers should consider."
BakBone will be presenting its current NetVault Virtual Disk Library (VDL) software offering, which allows users to combine the best of disk and tape-based technology to safeguard their mission-critical data. Faced with reduced backup windows and the need to recover data quickly, companies can rapidly implement the VDL solution. BakBone will also showcase its advanced version of this solution, the Shared Virtual Disk Library (SVDL), which allows customers to directly back up to disk without passing through the backup server, thus increasing automation and productivity further. The VDL and SVDL solutions will be jointly showcased with Overland Storage’s REO disk-based and NEO tape-based hardware appliances.
