Bakbone wins best san backup software award

Reseller partners honor BakBone for its commitment to the channel with best backup and recovery vendor award.

Stockholm, Sweden — November 5, 2003 — BakBone Software™ (TSX: BKB, OTCBB: BKBOF), a global provider of data recovery software, today announced that it has been awarded ‘Best Storage Area Network (SAN) Backup Software’ by Storage World Australia 2003. Additionally, BakBone was named winner of the CRN Certified Program 2003 in the category of ‘Best Backup and Recovery Vendor’ by CRN Magazine Germany.

The Storage World Best SAN Backup Software award in Asia Pacific builds on recent industry honors for BakBone’s NetVault in the European channel, including the No. 1 position in the category of backup and recovery in the Germany CRN Magazine’s CRN Certified Program 2003. In winning the annual CRN award, the publication stressed resellers had voted BakBone the channel partner leader as a result of the company’s strength in the following key areas: product quality and reliability, price/performance features, technical support, and co-operative vendor marketing programs. Following an independent satisfaction survey of 25 resellers by CRN Magazine, BakBone won the category with an unprecedented rating of 1.87 (with one being the highest and six the lowest), beating industry competitors CommVault, Veritas, Legato and CA.
