Mimer SQL Mobile Database Management System to be Available on Symbian OS

Uppsala, Sweden, June 25, 2003 -- Upright Database Technology today announced it will deliver the Mimer SQL Mobile database management system on Symbian OS™, the open global industry standard operating system for advanced mobile phones. Symbian licenses Symbian OS to the world´s leading handset manufacturers including Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Siemens and Sony Ericsson. In total, Symbian OS licensees account for more than 80% of worldwide mobile phone sales.

Mimer SQL Mobile for Symbian OS is a full-fledged DBMS server with support for data compression, multimedia data (e.g. MMS) and standard interface connectivity. The product also includes features like multi-user database access and 100% industry standard SQL -- full transactional support, stored procedures and triggers -- features otherwise only found in high-end DBMSs.
