Artek and Helsinki Vantaa airport presents new relax area

Artek, the internationally known and recognized quality design brand, is together with Helsinki-Vantaa airport presenting a new relax area furnitured with timeless and classical pieces from Artek´s Alvar Aalto collection. In an area of 106 m2, located between gates 19 and 20, the lounge, called "Artek area", displays a series of classical furniture designed by Artek´s most famous designer Alvar Aalto.

Helsinki-Vantaa Airport has made a decision to launch a new service concept for people who travel. In
addition to an area where travelers can visit and use different communication services and tools, the Vantaa airport in cooperation with Artek also launches the "Artek area" lounge where travelers can relax before they continue their journey. Ari Tulensalo, Assistant Airport Director, says: "We chose Artek and their Alvar Aalto furniture because they are representing some of the best-known Finnish design examples in the world. The furniture pieces are comfortable and practical objects that stand up to daily use while remaining attractive in their form - they are prefect for our new relax area".
