BakBone and Storagetek jointly announce certification of Netvault 7 for Storagetek tape libraries and drives
Stockholm, Sweden — October 30, 2003 — Building on the success of a number of mutual design wins including Daimler/Chrysler, BakBone Software™ (TSX: BKB, OTCBB: BKBOF), a global provider of data recovery software, and StorageTek® (Storage Technology Corporation, NYSE: STK) today jointly announced certification of NetVault 7 with StorageTek’s line of open system tape libraries and drives. Together,With this certification, BakBone and StorageTek solutions offer customers optimized data storage protection and enterprise-class functionality that supports the demands of any sized environment.
In order to optimize NetVault 7 data backup and recovery software, BakBone and StorageTek engineers jointly tested and cross-certified StorageTek’s full range of L-Series™ libraries (including L20, L40, L180, L700, L5500) and LTO Ultrium®, SDLT and DLT series tape drives to provide seamless storage area network (SAN) interoperability and performance for customers. BakBone’s NetVault 7 offers customers significantly lower cost of integration and deployment over competitive solutions, which complements StorageTek’s ability to provide massive capacity and high-speed access to data easily, reliably and cost-effectively.
