BakBone Software announces vice president of europe, middle east and africa

Stockholm, Sweden — February 11, 2004 — BakBone Software™ (TSX: BKB, OTCBB: BKBOF), a global provider of data protection software, today announced the appointment of Patrick Clarke to the position of vice president of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Clarke, based in London, has extensive experience in the enterprise software and storage market and will be responsible for expanding BakBone’s EMEA operations and revenue growth.

Clarke brings to BakBone over ten years of sales and general management experience in both the enterprise hardware and software sectors. Most recently, he served as vice president of EMEA for Overland Storage for three years, and was responsible for increasing Overland’s EMEA revenues by more than 65 percent. Before joining Overland, Clarke spent two years at Asbis Enterprises, a large Eastern European computer components distributor.

As Asbis’ director of sales, he was instrumental in growing revenues to more than $270 million, and leading a sales team of over 120 people in 22 offices across 18 countries. Prior to Asbis Enterprises, Clarke worked for IBM Technology Group in Europe as a regional director and held sales and sales management positions with a number of other enterprise software and storage companies including Quantum Corp. and CMS Peripherals.
