BakBone announces enterprice backup solution (EBS) certification og netvault by HP

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN — May 19, 2004 — BakBone Software™ (TSX: BKB, OTCBB: BKBOF), a global provider of data protection software, today announced certification of NetVault 7 with the HP StorageWorks portfolio of enterprise and mid-range tape libraries, autoloaders and drives across multiple operating systems. With HP’s Enterprise Backup Solution (EBS) certification, customers can now gain full access to BakBone’s data backup and recovery product line. The BakBone solution offers customers proven enterprise-class data storage hardware and software compatibility that supports the demands of any size environment.

As part of the EBS certification, BakBone and HP engineers jointly tested and cross-certified HP’s full range of StorageWorks ESL and MSL-series libraries and autoloaders with LTO and SDLT series tape drives to enable seamless storage area network (SAN) interoperability and performance for customers. The extensive certification allows BakBone and HP to extend NetVault software to HP’s installed base of customers for the StorageWorks ESL and MSL tape libraries.
