innovaphone realizes the entire telephony infrastructure for the "House of Present" Sindelfingen, November 8, 2004 – Making phone calls via the Internet protocol – without a computer, with supreme quality of speech, and closely tied in with the house control system and the communications system of a household.

This is not a future scenario, but a reality made possible today by innovaphone IP-telephony solutions. How does it work? The Sindelfingen-based IP specialist demonstrates it with the "House of Present" (www.haus-der-gegenwart.de), a sophisticated architectural model project currently under construction on the premises of the National Garden Festival 2005 in Munich.

How private do we wish our living spaces to be? How can we create a secure, snug atmosphere, yet simultaneously, a room structure that will adjust to changing lifestyles? How does a private residence on a small lot near the city limits have to be designed to harmonize perfectly with the surrounding landscape? These are the questions that guided the architects in their designs for the "House of Present." This acclaimed model project is the product of an international architectural competition initiated by the Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin (SZ-Magazin) in 2001.

The contest was for a contemporary private residence for four persons, near the city limits of a large mid-European city, with approximately 200 square meters of floor space on a lot of about 500 square meters, and construction costs of about 250,000 Euro.

Yet the "House of Present" sets new standards not only in architecture. The trend-setting model house has also been equipped with an integrative technological platform that allows for the integration of the house´s control system with its communications- and home-entertainment systems.

A central component of this technical infrastructure is the telephony system. The house´s telephony system is being implemented by innovaphone. A fully-fledged IP-based innovaphone IP 800 system and four innovaphone IP 200 IP telephones will be installed. With the contribution to the "House of Present," innovaphone also, for the first time ever, wants to connect the telephony with the house´s control system.

This way, all the house´s technical equipment and all furnishings connected to the house control – be it the heating system, ventilation, air conditioning, or the automatic blinds – may be controlled via the telephone. Also remotely, via a cellular phone. This is made possible by the open architecture of innovaphone´s IP solutions.
