The Happening – The largest netparty in Denmark

The Happening is an innovative way of creating netparties, which offers computergamers both new and educational experiences. That will happen with Lectures and focus on the social aspect.

The Happening is the name of the largest netparty in Denmark, which besides gaming environment in top class also focuses on the social aspect. App. 1000 computergamers will, in the days June 2nd to June 5th, take their computers under their arms and make for the largest gaming event of the year, The Happening in Ballerup Super Arena.

Social event
The principal organizer at Denmark’s largest netparty, Project Manager Astrid Alstroem from Devent, is a diligent computergamer herself. It is her personal experiences from several other netparties that have been the foundation of this year’s event.
“Many other netparties have too much focus on money and big prizes for top gamers. We also want big prizes, but the most important thing is that people have a great time, and that there are other exciting activities than just playing and drinking cola." she says.

Netparties become more and more popular
“Netparties still become increasingly popular, despite people being able to sit at home and play their on ADSL connections. That underlines, that the players come to meet each other and that aspect in particular is in focus for us." says Astrid Alstroem. “For instance there will be a series of key notes, which will put the gamingculture in a different perspective then what people usually hear."

Healthy food – and pizza
Furthermore, there will also be an opportunity to buy healthy food, which is pretty unusually at netparties. Sleeping and bathing facilities will also be of a high standard, and smoking is prohibited, stresses the Principal Organizer. There will, however, still be room for the mandatory pizzas which will be delivered three times a day by Dominos.

65 employees
The event is backed up by a staff of more than 65 employees, who will make sure that the app. 1000 gamers will have a great time and a safe experience for the 4 days.
Tickets can be bought at www.billetlugen.dk. Besides the app. 1000 normal tickets there are 2000 day-tickets for people who want to see the stands and hear the key notes. There are also 40 VIP-tickets on the line that can be won at www.thehappening.dk. VIP-tickets gave access to free coffee, merchandise and special waiting on.
