Hot Nordic ERP market drives outsourcing, says IDC

The Nordic ERP market, worth €3.2 billion in 2007, has been one of the main contributors to IT market growth in recent years, according to IDC research.

- The continuous upgrades that have been implemented since 2004 have driven much of the growth in the IT services market, said Nils Molin, managing director of IDC Sweden. - hese upgrades have been followed by investment in new modules, such as CRM and human capital management, which have made positive contributions towards growth in both the services and software sectors. Recently we have seen an explosion of interest in business intelligence solutions which has turned this market into one of the hottest areas in the software industry at the moment. Customers are also to a larger extent using application management services, which makes this one of the fastest-growing areas in the outsourcing industry.

All available signs point to 2008 being yet another year of growth in the ERP segment. The forecast for the Nordic region the coming five years points at a CAGR of 5.2% for services and 6.0% growth for applications.
