Wireless GPS/Bluetooth™ Receiver for Mobile Terminals

The Emtac Crux GPS/Bluetooth is now available through Daimler Distribution A/S, who has become exclusive Danish distributor in Denmark. Daimler will appoint leading resellers of mobile computing accessories as resellers of the Crux Bluetooth GPS.

The GPS Receiver is able to wirelessly link with integrated Bluetooth™ mobile platforms like Smart Phones, PDA's, WebPAD's, Tablet PC's and DSC's. This adds GPS functionality to a whole new class of mobile devices.

Now emerging markets such as mobile LBS (Location-Based Services), navigation, and fleet management can tap into state of the art GPS location awareness through a Bluetooth™ port. This frees the Bluetooth™ device from having to connect to GPS via a cable or embedding GPS into every product. "GPS and Bluetooth™ provide many synergies for our customers.

EMTAC's new product is an exciting next step in realizing SiRF's vision of bringing location awareness to all mobile devices,"Says Kanwar Chadha, V.P. of Marketing of SiRF Technology. The GPS/Bluetooth™ receiver achieves dramatically lower power consumption by using the latest SiRFstarIIe./LP chipset technology from SiRF. Features include built-in battery operation, blue LED's that indicate status, and external power supply source from an optional mobile charger kit. The receiver supports NMEA0183 Ver.2.20 standard protocol and Bluetooth™ 1.1.

The Bluetooth trademarks are owned by Bluetooth SIG, Inc. and licensed to EMTAC Technology Corp.
