Nordic IP Telephony is spreading to all business segments - cost is still the main driver, says IDC
It is no longer primarily the large companies that are buying IP Telephony. The midsize and small companies are all looking into IP Telephony solutions, and this is reflected in IDC´s growth expectations for the market: Nordic growth expectation in the next five years in the CPE-based so-called enterprise solutions is well over 20% in both Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark.
That is some of the conclusions from a new series of IDC studies about Nordic IP Telephony.
"Cost is still the most important factor when deciding for an IPT solution. But vendors must prepare for a market with an increased focus on business development factors such as vertically oriented applications on top of the IPT solution" says Karsten Fogh Ho-Lanng, Nordic Research Manager at IDC.
Another factor that has begun to influence the small and midsize market is the hosted solutions. Though the first moves in the area have been seen among the large companies, it must be expected that the prevalence in the rest of the market will take off during the next year. IDC´s growth expectations in this area are very high, way over 90% per year until 2009.
The studies are among the subjects when IDC is inviting to IP Communications conferences in Stockholm on November 22, and in Copenhagen on November 30.
