R&M: Broadband Boom Brings Results for Cabling Specialist

Leading vendor of network cabling infrastructure solutions reports 20% increase over last year, mainly due to international sales growth

Reichle & De-Massari AG (R&M), the specialist developer and manufacturer of components and cabling for data networks, saw a marked growth in sales during the first half of 2007. Interim sales figures for the first six months of 2007 are more than 20% higher than for the same period in 2006.

R&M’s products are in use in over 140 countries around the world in networks belonging to telecoms operators, in large and small businesses, and in industrial production plants and family homes. Headquartered in Switzerland, three quarters of R&M sales are generated internationally.

In the first half of 2007 R&M recorded significant growth in nearly all its markets. Sales were above expected levels in most of Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Generally, worldwide expansion of data networks and broadband infrastructures is giving rise to an increase in demand, and this is reflected in R&M sales.

"Across the world there is a positive response to our innovative products and the reliable service we offer, and this is reflected in strong sales growth," said CEO Martin Reichle.

R&M has also strengthened its role as supplier to significant international clients. In particular, this has been the case in the financial industry, where data security and reliability play a crucial role, and where quality and service levels often tip the scale in favour of R&M’s high quality products.

“All in all, the figures for this spring show an excellent state of affairs, and our long term goal remains to achieve exceptional growth internationally, through leadership in technology and quality," said Mr. Reichle.

As part of its growth strategy, R&M has increased its level of investment, and at present a new production plant is being constructed near the company headquarters in Wetzikon, Switzerland, aiming to increase manufacturing capacity and optimize work processes. R&M is also expanding its marketing and distribution organization, with the aim to substantially increase service and logistics capacity.
