Mondosoft Database Retrieval Module Now Available
New Database Indexing Feature Enables Enterprise-wide Unified Search with MondoSearch
Mondosoft, a leading provider of enterprise search and analytics technologies, today announced the availability of a new Database Retrieval Module (DRM) for its MondoSearch customers. Designed to meet the needs of e-commerce companies, particularly those with high-turnover online catalogues, multiple types of databases, platforms and applications, the new module enables users to simultaneously search and retrieve information from internal databases across the enterprise, and from external sources, such as public web content.
Mondosoft’s Database Retrieval Module is designed to work in nearly any network environment, delivering indexing capability without changes to existing infrastructures or sites.
According to business analysis and advisory firm Jupiter Research, online retail spending increased 26 percent last year, to $66.5 billion. By 2009, Jupiter predicts, online spending will reach 6 percent of total retail sales. Research shows that if people do not locate the item or product they want in three clicks, they stop looking and the company may lose their prospective client forever. That is why, according to Jupiter, 90% of visitors who make online purchases use site search to research and buy products. Optimized site search is key to enabling sales.
“The combination of MondoSearch with the new Database Retrieval Module boosts e-commerce because it enables our customers to quickly update their sites with new products and pricing, for greater sales volume, faster product turnover cycles, and more competitive product and pricing offerings," said Laust Sondergaard, Mondosoft President and CEO.
Mondosoft’s Database Retrieval Module is ideal for custom content installations using Microsoft Commerce Server or for Intranets where dedicated client applications are used to access database content. The module allows indexing of database content, web pages and other types of content into one unified search database. Users can view their search results as converted HTML layouts or can be redirected to existing web pages.
DRM extracts content from the databases using live connections into the database, and can be set up to do incremental extracts of changed records only. This is highly beneficial when dealing with large data amounts or heavy server strain. The result is a rapidly-generated, one-stop results list. In addition, after finding the data, the DRM can index these disparate types of information into a unified search repository.
The Mondosoft Database Retrieval Module is extensible to most database systems as needed and indexes:
- Lotus Notes databases
- Microsoft SQL Server databases
- ODBC databases
The live connections ensure that users always see up-to-date content from the databases when selecting their preferred results. DRM also allows for custom setups or table presentations of each individual database.
Pricing for the Database Retrieval Module for MondoSearch is $9, 000 and includes one day of consulting. For more information, click www.mondosoft.com/drm .
