Stylish Spaces Helps Restyle Homes for 2006 with its Occasional Chairs
Want to restyle your lounge or dining room for 2006? Forget the bland, high street furniture retailers with their pine, plastic and pastiche. Stylish Spaces, a Bristol-based supplier of distinctive furniture, is launching an online store at http://www.stylishspaces.co.uk which sells exclusive occasional chairs and tables that will complement any modern home – without making it look as if the owner’s style tips have been borrowed from a ‘trendy’ hotel lobby or showroom.
With a focus on high quality, affordable pieces that don’t compromise on style or comfort, Stylish Spaces combines original design, superior materials and expert craftsmanship – and, thankfully, there’s not a flat pack in sight. Its collection of occasional chairs are made from solid oak and use a blend of formal and informal details to achieve a clean yet solid look. Prices start at 215 GBP for the Loire chair - a modern adaptation of Louis XVI French classic styling.
Saman Mirza, co-founder of Stylish Spaces, comments: ‘Internet shopping now represents 6% of all retail sales in the UK and online furniture sales are finally on the rise too. Even though low overheads mean online furniture stores can pass major savings to the customer, buyers have been hesitant to commit because of long waiting periods, expensive delivery, unintelligible returns policies and little or no customisation options. With Stylish Spaces, we’re turning this situation on the head with an approach designed to be flexible and inspire confidence.’
At Stylish Spaces, delivery is free and all furniture is dispatched from readily available stock, so items can be delivered within seven to 14 working days. Stylish Spaces has a straightforward returns policy. If the selected furniture isn’t perfect for the customer’s living space, the company will collect the item free of charge and arrange for an exchange or refund.
Saman Mirza, co-founder of Stylish Spaces, explains the rationale behind the company: ‘When decorating my own home, I couldn´t find any reasonably priced occasional chairs for my lounge that fitted the bill. The ones I liked were either too expensive or the proportions were suited more to 30ft lounges than the modestly scaled homes of today. Also design wise, the traditional models were too traditional and the modern too modern - all chrome and plastic which would be better suited to airport lounges or diners than a stylish home.’
Atiq Mirza, co-founder of Stylish Spaces adds: ‘Thanks to the home decorating programs on TV, consumers are more design savvy than ever before. Gone are the days when decorating your lounge meant pushing two settees against walls facing a television. Making living space individual is a major trend and occasional chairs are an important part of the process.’
