YaWah among the first to launch professional image server for Mac OS X Panther

With the launch of eRez Imaging Server version 2.5 it has become much easier to establish your own image library on the internet. With the new drag & drop installer it only takes few seconds to install the software under Mac OS X and it has become much easier to take advantage of the Tomcat Java application server which comes preinstalled with Mac OS X server.

With eRez Imaging Server 2.5, Colleagues, clients, partners or the press can quickly retrieve cropped images optimized for the job at hand in various resolutions and formats - no matter what, when and where. At the same time, the eRez Imaging Server enables users on the internet to zoom in and examine details of high resolution images in a bandwidth efficient manner. Even images taking up hundreds of Megabytes or more can be examined in detail through a regular dial-up connection. This allows potential customers to examine details such as buttons and seams of clothing, the state of antiques on an auction or details of a complex technical drawing.

Images on a web page are traditionally static images, manually prepared in advance and placed on a web server – but this is no longer necessary. With the eRez Imaging Server it is possible to replace the static images with dynamic images, created in real-time from a single high resolution master image. Not only does this eliminate the tedious image processing tasks when creating and maintaining web pages – but the visitors are also given the possibility of zooming into image details from a regular web browser.
