e-Healthcare: Cooperation for a Personal Health Record in Switzerland

yellowworld AG and ICW (Switzerland) AG have signed a contract for close business cooperation in the sale and operation of the LifeSensor® personal health record on the Swiss healthcare market. LifeSensor is an application that enables clients to manage and evaluate their health-related activities.

yellowworld AG, based in Bern, and ICW (Switzerland) AG have signed a contract for close business cooperation in the Swiss healthcare market. As application service provider, yellowworld will provide the LifeSensor PHR, one of the many innovative products of eHealth specialist InterComponentWare AG (ICW), to Swiss clients. Furthermore, yellowworld AG will sell and implement the LifeSensor personal health record in certain market segments, partly as an independent distributor, partly in close cooperation with ICW (Switzerland).

LifeSensor personal health record will facilitate the personal health management of the people in Switzerland. This web-based solution helps to support the personal disease prevention process electronically by managing individual, health-related data and information. The LifeSensor personal health record is an “electronic diary lasting for life" (personal health life cycle) and every user can plan, carry out and monitor each health supporting activity, together with the corresponding experts (e.g. fitness coach, nutritionist, etc.). The relating data can be saved directly in the LifeSensor personal health record, e.g. by manual input, or by connecting it to biomonitoring devices (e.g. movement sensors, measuring units for calories, blood pressure or body weight). Furthermore, relevant health information can be accessed or specific institutions (e.g. health check centers) contacted electronically directly from the application. The sale of the LifeSensor personal health record is focused especially on companies and organizations aiming at establishing health promoting processes together with their employees or members. The user always has the exclusive control of all data stored on the personal health record, thus ensuring data security and privacy.

Latest version of LifeSensor available in spring 2007
ICW is currently upgrading the design, architecture and functionality of its LifeSensor PHR. The latest version will be available in the Swiss market in spring 2007. Preliminary projects for the conception of specific applications have already been started with potential customers and partners. These projects demonstrate the long-term benefits of the components and have resulted in a great level of interest among a broad range of potential users.
