Mondosoft and Sitecore: An effective intranet requires intelligent search with a high degree of security and flexibility

Transcontinental communication on multilingual web sites is facilitated by a secure search engine, MondoSearch, and a user friendly Sitecore CMS

Therefore, when Enzym helped the multinational company Flügger Group find the right intranet solution, one of the main objectives was to find a really good search engine to go with the Sitecore CMS, which not only sought well, but also met Flügger’s requirements of security, speed and adaptability

Search, security and connoisseur features
“MondoSearch, the search engine from Mondosoft, met all our expectations, integrating very well into the security model and the back-end Content Management System. It merges seamlessly with Sitecore, which in itself is a huge advantage, and the MondoSearch algorithm optimizes large volumes of data for superior indexing and rapid retrieval. We’ve been working closely with the Mondosoft development team, and the implementation and adaptation to Flügger’s specific needs has been smooth sailing," Anders Pedersen, Lead Developer at Enzym, emphasizes.
“On top of that, it has some really clever features: I particularly appreciate the ability to manipulate search through synonyms, where a search for “food" will lead you directly to the canteen menu. MondoSearch also provides suggestions based on what other users found relevant – popularly called “Amazon-results" – which is a great time-saver."

Managing information as it flows and grows
An intranet resembles a living, breathing organism. If it grows unchecked it might evolve into a monstrosity which doesn’t perform as intended. Therefore, traffic and behavior patterns need to be monitored and analyzed, and constant pruning is necessary.
Jan Kjær explains:
“You are always halfway to the next version, but the flow must remain painless and flexible, and the performance flawless."
“The goal is to avoid problems caused by the fact that an information structure is a work in progress. Most organizations inevitably create so many horizontal features, that a new structure is required, and continuous reorganization on that scale can easily create information chaos."
