The Swedish company OneCafé wins a groundbreaking order from Norway’s biggest coffee roastery
Sweden-based OneCafé International AB, creator of the one-cup revolutionary packaging concept for brewing a cup of freshly ground coffee, has signed a major collaboration- and licensing agreement with the Norwegian company Kaffehuset Friele AS from Bergen in Norway.
Kaffehuset Friele is market leader in Norway and has a 35% market share which adds up to a billion cups of coffee. The company is the oldest roastery in the Nordic countries, dating back to the late 1700s.
The five-year agreement gives Kaffehuset Friele AS the right to produce and sell OneCafé packaging solutions filled with Friele’s own branded coffee, in Norway.
“We are now ready to extensively launch and sell Friele-OneCafé on the Norwegian market. Coffee IS Friele in Norway and we are now showing that we are at the forefront of the industry by offering Norwegians an exciting new product," says Olav Munch, Managing director of Kaffehuset Friele.
OneCafé has quickly become a popular product in the hotel-, restaurant- and travel industries. This innovative product means you can quickly and easily brew a cup of great-tasting coffee wherever you are; all you need is boiling water. Up to now OneCafé has been sold in Sweden and Denmark.
"With Kaffehuset Friele AS as our customer, a company known for its high quality, OneCafé has found a partner with a strong position in sales over all the Norwegian market. Our new way of brewing and drinking coffee has now reached the Norwegian market," says Johnny Ragazzo, Managing director of OneCafé.
OneCafé is an innovative company that saw the light of day at the business incubator, Ideon Innovation, in Lund.

OneCafé International AB in brief
OneCafé has developed a way of brewing fresh coffee in the cup; just add boiling water. The company licenses its packaging solution to roasteries all over the world so that they can pack their own branded coffee in the unique container. In July 2006 the company was awarded the prestigious Food Packaging of the Year award 2006 (first prize) at a ceremony in London and has gone on to win a host of design awards, among them a Worlsdstar, the packaging industry’s equivalent of an Oscar.
OneCafé started out at Ideon Innovation in Lund and is now based in Eslöv, right in the heart of the Sound business region and a centre for several international food producers. OneCafé works in complete harmony with the UN’s millennium goal of halving poverty in the third world by 2015.
