WebProof with Web-to-Print

Today, the most recent extension of well-known Danish software WebProof went on pre-release show at DRUPA. With the new extension, customers can make last minute corrections directly in high-resolution PDF documents instead of having to get a graphic designer to do it, irrespective of whether the document was originally produced in InDesign, Quark or even Word.

WebProof license holders will now be able to offer their customers the ability to produce adverts or more simple products such as business cards from templates without assistance. In addition, and even more interestingly, on larger projects and when deadlines are short, significant time savings can be made as the user can alter text, prices etc. directly in the high resolution PDF file.

No graphical background is necessary, just mark out and enter the new text and the file is ready on the fly; a solution that really keeps things simple.

Jan Adeltoft, co-founder of WebProof, says: "All this can be done from any browser, and from both Macs and PCs, without installing any software. All that’s needed is Internet access – that’s real Web-to-Print. This, combined with what is probably the market´s most advanced XML workflow, means that WebProof expect to double their turnover in 2008".

This workflow means that several geographically separate locations can work on the same original InDesign or Quark files and WebProof also supports clipping and colour calibration. Pre-flight automatic email-emptying, portal uploads and not least the new SMS/e-mail alarm - which can be used both with WebProof and other system functions - have brought new life to WebFlow.

The new product extension will go on general sale after DRUPA, but can already be viewed at www.webproof.com.

The next Web-to-Print release is already under development, and will allow users to correct InDesign files from their browser. This solution is designed for use with multi-language versions, catalogue production etc. With it, the user will be able to alter fonts, blocks of text, pictures etc. either on an individual basis or through automised XML/CSV processes from other databases.

WebProof has won widespread international recognition, and has more than 30.000 users spread across more than 70 countries including LEGO, BANG AND OLUFSEN, VOLVO, AUDI, FUJIFILM, JYSK, SILVAN, MATAS and ALLER, as well as over 200 newspapers and magazines, and a huge number of bureaus and printers.

Sales have often been achieved in direct competition with big players from the publishing and printing industry such as Kodak Insite and AGFA Delano. Quite simply, customers prefer WebProof´s superior functionality and pricing.

With this extension to WebProof services, WebProof are yet again ahead of the game, taking the lead in document management and process correction optimisation.

Our customers typically achieve savings of more than 25% across their total production time.
