ISO renewal with ecknowledgement

External audit of Noliac’s quality system lead to renewal of ISO 9001:2000 certificate with acknowledgment of two appreciative initiatives.

Excellent foundation
- Being ISO certified gives us an assurance that we continuously and at all times produce our products at the same, high quality, Quality Assurance Manager Claus No Andersen explains. - And that is very important to us! Our procedures and instructions ensures homogeneity in our working assignments and thereby homogeneity in our products!

No deviations
Lead auditor Jesper Halmind from Det Norske Veritas, visited Noliac in Kvistgaard for the yearly audit of our ISO 9001:2000 certificate.

Human Resource Manager Lotte Beck presented a new procedure for control of human resources, which has been reviewed and expanded in 2007 with focus upon a competence matrix.

Chief Operating Officer Ole Wibom presented how Noliac has taken a big step toward bringing the quality goals into a daily focus. Managers now report against these in their monthly management report.

Research and Development Manager Jean Bruland presented a new project model wich is build over a stage gate model, where upper management reviews the project before it is released for the next phase.

Production Manager Michael Sandberg presented the production for Mr. Halmind on a tour, where the installation of a new tapecaster and the new lapping machine was of special interest.

Wherever Mr. Halmind was looking he only found that all measuring equipment were within their calibration dates and no deviation was found; only suggestions to improvements.

Two appreciative initiatives
Mr. Halmind concluded:
- I have noticed two appreciative initiatives. The first is the creation and implementation of the competence matrix. Many companies talk about competence matrixes but only few have actually implemented it. The second is the incorporation of the quality goals into the monthly report making them operational.
