Userminds and SonyEricsson go for software design and business

Europe’s leading software design companies are sending their staff to Europe’s meeting point for interaction designers and business managers.

“Business to Buttons is a great place to network with colleagues from around the world and share experiences. Designers and product managers need to cooperate in order to create a great user experience," says Anja Thrane, partner at Userminds ApS, a leading Danish usability consultancy that will be sending nine people to the Malmö conference on 12 and 13 June.

“I really look forward to hearing Don Norman present his ideas. I’ve read his books and articles and they have great influence on how we work with user experience in Userminds.

“Also, I will listen to Daniel Fällman’s ´Why interaction design needs industrial design (and vice-versa)´. I find there is a lot to be learned from the development process of industrial design and I would like to get insights from experience prototyping," says Thrane.

SonyEricsson has bought 18 places at the Business to Buttons conference. One of the participants is Jonas Bergsten, an interaction designer at User Interface Communication Applications.

“I think it is benefincial for designers and product managers to meet because these are two areas that are close to each other and depend on each other. There is need for understanding how the other group thinks and reasons," Bergsten says.

“I especially look forward to the keynote by Donald Norman. He has always been an authority in the area and it will be great to have the opportunity to listen to him. Also, it will be really interesting to hear what other people have say about the mobile phone as a social tool, as this is what I do at work," says Jonas Bergsten.
