Sophisticated time registration systems from Bangladesh to the world market

A new IT partnership involving Contest A/S of Denmark and Periscope Technology Ltd. of Bangladesh has just been launched.

The core of the co-operation is the development and marketing of an advanced time sheet reporting system for keeping track of f.ex. working hours – ideal for purposes of invoicing, HR statistics, project management systems a.o.

The two partners first met at the SoftExpo 2008 in February and since then the development of the system and the foundation for the partnership has taken off, now formalized through a support obtained from the DANIDA Business-to-Business (B2B) Programme administered by the Royal Danish Embassy, Dhaka.

Mr. Erik Testmann, CEO and founder of Contest explains: “Our existing time sheet reporting system needs to be further developed into a new version, but we lack sufficient resources in Denmark to complete this task. The match with Periscope is perfect for combining our efforts in bringing this product to the world market."

Mr. Sharif Ahmed, Chairman and CEO of Periscope continues: “Periscope has for long been looking for new market opportunities in Europe. By teaming up with Contest we believe we will be in a good position to boost our export activities."

The co-operation was formalized through the signing of a B2B support at the Royal Danish Embassy in Dhaka on the 7th December 2008. Mr. Ib Albertsen, B2B Co-ordinator states: “This is another good example of a successful commercial co-operation between private partners of our two countries. From the perspective of DANIDA, we will see a number of benefits for Bangladesh coming out of this partnership – job creation, export revenues, new technology transfer, focus on CSR issues – and for the partners the commercial outcome at the same time is attractive."

B2B is a DANIDA funded programme that aims to facilitate in creating long-term commercially viable business collaborations between the companies in Denmark and Bangladesh. By using business linkages as an instrument for economic and social development, the B2B Programme seeks to improve living conditions of the people in the developing countries.
