TRESU sets Danish footPRINT all over the world
A global success will be celebrated locally at the beginning of April when the production company TRESU A/S located near the Danish town of Kolding in co-operation with Tetra Pak will be delivering high end flexo printing machine no. 50. Each machine is worth several millions of EURO, and the successful co-operation has resulted in the delivery of 50 specially designed inline printing machines over the last 15 years. Each day all year round these machines produce high-quality 7-colour flexo printing, 1.7 m wide at a speed of 600 m/min.
This corresponds to 36 km/h and up to 60,000 m2 flexo printed material per hour. Inline means that the printing units are placed in a row one after another thus creating optimum ergonomic working conditions for the machine operators. This flexo printing machine is a mechanical and electronic high-technology giant with the size of a two-storey single family house (200 m2), and it weighs approx. 150 tons. When packed and ready for shipment, the machine is delivered in 18 pcs. 40-feet containers.
The machines are installed all over the world in more than 20 different countries and confirm TRESU’s position as an international player in the global market. This also means that whenever a customer opens a milk or juice carton somewhere in the world, there is a good chance that this carton was printed on a Danish printing machine from TRESU A/S.
The special machines are developed, produced, assembled, tested and packed at TRESU’s production facilities in Denmark. Here the nearly 200 employees have created a unique customized machine in less than 6 months, and now another customer is ready to receive a modern printing machine “made in Denmark".
"TRESU´s competence as an international co-operation partner is a win-win situation for all parties involved" explains Frank Paulsen, Key Account Manager. “Our Danish mentality combined with the enthusiasm which our employees are putting into the projects, offer our customer a safety which is of high value when quality and performance is the difference between success and failure".
At TRESU mainstream has been replaced by custom-designed solutions. Such a niche requires high flexibility, and flexibility is precisely the strength of TRESU. Frank Paulsen continues: “In a time where we and our partners are caught up in the international crisis net you need an open mind to still be able to deliver turn key projects and to adapt and expand existing equipment to new and more productive standards. Today quality is a decisive parameter for our customers, and quality can be difficult to measure. Through World Class Manufacturing we have increased our general quality considerably and optimized our supply chain, and today we are capable of matching even the largest players in the market. This goes for our competitors as well as for our partners and customers. Actually TRESU has come so far today, that in many ways we are able to influence the quality of our customers in a positive direction and in this way create added value to the products that we develop and deliver together".
Besides the manufacture of complete printing machines, TRESU also produces printing modules and equipment for the graphic industry which can be integrated in existing installations and thus upgrade or expand the installation. TRESU also has a department for sub-supplier and project work, producing parts for own production as well as being a supplier to several businesses in Denmark. TRESU employs 250 people worldwide, hereof 200 employees in the Danish headquarters, and has subsidiaries in the USA, England, Italy, Japan and China.
