TSB selected for Texas Instruments Low-Power RF Developer Network

TSB, one of the fastest growing Spanish based Health and Wellbeing Technology companies, has today announced that it has been selected by Texas Instruments (TI) Low Power RF Developer Network to design and deploy wireless real time location tracking solutions using TI´s ZigBee modules. The TSB technology, which is used mainly in the health and wellness medical market under the name of SPHERAone, enables effective monitoring and management of people and devices in buildings and pre-defined outdoor and indoor areas.

SPHERAone uses TI ZigBee products specifically to deliver high-performance, low-power solutions for real time location, identification and tracking which can also open the opportunities for future applications. In addition, by being deployed through a wireless network it reuses the same system location beacons to exchange information, which allows many other solutions to be integrated, creating an interoperable sensors network.

"We have been working very closely with Texas Instruments for some time now which allows us to offer a great deal of flexibility to our solutions using TI´s proven ZigBee modules," said Serafin Arroyo , Marketing Director at TSB. "Our SPHERAone technology has the edge in providing the market with a new range of solutions for location, tracking, identification and security."

SPHERAone is already used in several TSB products such as SPHERAmobile, which incorporates management, identification and monitoring of children during trips and summer camps. This product has been already deployed at summer camp at Polytechnic University of Valencia, being used by supervisors and monitors to efficiently and effectively manage and secure the day to day activities of participating students.

New applications like SPHERAhospital or SPHERAvita are already under development to be used for location, tracking and identification of patients at defined areas of hospitals, residences and ambient assisted living homes.

"Texas Instruments is pleased to have TSB join our developer network and to collaborate with TSB on the SPHERAone location tracking technology for the social monitoring and wellness medical market," said Mark Grazier, worldwide manager for TI´s Low-Power RF developer network. "Assisted living and hospital centric location tracking products is a rapidly expanding market, and TSB is well positioned to be a market leader with their technology."
