Valencia, SPAIN, 30 November 2009 – Woxter Tech., a leading manufacturer of AV, storage and multimedia products, and DS2, a leading technology innovator and global supplier of high-speed powerline communications technology (PLC), announced today that Woxter has embedded DS2 powerline technology in VideoLAN™, the first multi-room, cable-free HDMI extender offering a full HD home theater experience at any electrical outlet, anywhere in the home.

VideoLAN ™ is a compact, easy to install solution that allows customers to connect HD TV’s with any AV source such as a set-top-box, multimedia player, Blu-ray player, Xbox, satellite, DVD player, media REC or Woxter’s i-CUBE product series to distribute video at full HD1080p resolution to HD TV’s at any other electrical outlet, anywhere in the home. "VideoLAN is the first of its kind enabling users to enjoy a truly plug and play solution for Full HD 1080p over PLC for in-home use. Its unique design and concept has been patented worldwide, said Javier Parraga, Woxter CEO. VideoLAN receives input from any user remote control in any room to offer transparent, cable free, multi-room connectivity for HD viewing at the touch of a button. VideoLAN’s unique design is simple to use and reduces cable clutter behind the TV since both transmitter and receiver come equipped with a built in female outlet allowing customers to save an external wall outlet as the design evens powers the TV unit.

Aitana ++ is DS2´s third generation wireline chipset that offers a compact and "green" product for Home Networking, Smart Grid, Smart Building or Ethernet over Coax products. Based on advanced OFDM modulation it provides the ability to cope with the challenges of any type of medium, be it powerline, coax or twisted pair and deliver a peak data rate of more that 200Mbps for bandwidth hungry applications. Aitana ++ Reference Designs support push button configuration for easy set up. The technology sets new energy saving standards offering reduced power consumption in normal operation and up to 70 per cent reduction in stand by mode. Aitana ++ chipsets guarantee quality of service where multiple media sources and rendering devices share the same medium. The chipset has managed queues with multiple priority levels and strict bandwidth and latency guarantees to mix different types of service like Data, VoIP, IPTV or Video on Demand on the same network, and guarantee that each traffic stream is allocated its required network resources.
