Hamilton Rentals add new IBM POWER7 Systems™ to their rental fleet
Hamilton Rentals, the UK´s leading IT & AV rental company, has purchased £2 million worth of IBM (NYSE: IBM) POWER7 servers to provide their customers with the opportunity of accessing a new generation of smarter systems. This represents the first phase of acquiring IBM POWER7 servers to meet the expected demand from clients this year. Hamilton Rentals has already provided POWER7 servers to customers from a range of business sectors including retail and financial.
IBM POWER7 systems incorporate industry unique technologies to support the specialised demands of new applications and services that rely on processing enormous numbers of concurrent transactions and data while analysing that information in real time. In addition, the systems can potentially enable clients to manage current applications at less cost with technology breakthroughs in virtualisation and energy savings, more cost-efficient use of memory, and better price performance.
With over 45 years experience in providing businesses with a wide range of equipment for hire Hamilton Rentals offer flexible IT solutions at competitive prices. They also offer customers a range of services which include design and specification, configuration, testing, delivery, installation, project or event management and consultancy. All the equipment is designed to be configured to customers’ exact requirements and supported for the duration of the rental period. They also make available competitive Extension and Rental Buy Out options on most rentals.
“Our strategic relationship with IBM is key to us providing short term rental solutions at cost effective rates on the leading edge products that IBM bring to market. Hamilton Rentals investment in POWER7 servers underlines our commitment to provide our customers and business partners with a total IBM rental solution. The addition of POWER7 to our IBM rental fleet means we can offer rapid access to IBM´s latest technology." said Martin O’Connor, Managing Director of Hamilton Rentals Ltd.
Hamilton Rentals offer great flexibility, for example rental periods can last from 1 day to 2 years, and peace of mind to their customers, for example, the ability to spread costs or ‘try before they buy’. Customers will typically hire IT equipment for benchmarking and software testing, for proof of concept projects, for training purposes, to accommodate extra processing power needs during peak work load periods or for rapid deployment requirements. Hamilton Rentals rent IT equipment directly to businesses, as well as to IBM Business Partners and to customers on behalf of IBM.
“IBM POWER7 Systems are designed to put a lid on the rising costs and complexities of modern data centres while offering clients the performance, reliability, scaleability and ease of management that they require. Hamilton Rentals aim to provide clients with a flexible way to take advantage of IBM’s three-year, $3 billion investment in POWER7 Systems that are ready for new workloads, such as the growing use of powerful, real-time business analytics." said Robert Reuben, IBM Power Systems Leader in the UK.
Hamilton Rentals´ product fleet now includes IBM Power 770 and IBM Power 750 servers running AIX or Linux®, and they will add new POWER7 models as they become available.
