ACDelco Continues To Accelerate Growth

Strong double-digit growth continues to be the order of the day for ACDelco in the UK aftermarket, with the company’s General Manager, Lee Quinney having once again announced a positive performance for the business in the first half of the year.

As a delighted Lee Quinney states: “The strength of ACDelco’s business not just here in the UK but across Europe should not be underestimated. We are extremely confident that the business model that we have adopted for our operation will result in us being able to continue to consolidate such a progressive growth pattern moving forwards. All of the key indicators certainly point to this as being the case."

In addition to growth emanating from ACDelco’s resolve to strengthen and fine tune its customer base, particularly in relation to key independent motor factors and buying groups, maintaining a dynamic and relevant product range will also remain central to proceedings.

“Constantly aligning all of our product groups to the most relevant applications within what is a changing vehicle parc remains one of our key priorities, as this will continue to help drive our development in the future. Indeed such has been the success of our ongoing range extension programme that we have only recently had to increase our warehouse footprint by over a third," states Quinney.

In addition to using the additional space to house product from across ACDelco global parts programme, the company has created a standalone distribution location specifically for oils and lubricants. Located on a 55-acre site that occupies some 1.25 million sq ft, the new distribution hub gives ACDelco the physical space to meet future growth predictions for this product group alone.

But it is not just product and distribution that Quinney singles out for praise, equally important is promotion and availability. As he injects: “We are constantly hitting 96% availability across all product lines, and this is something that we have been working tirelessly on delivering for quite some time. Equally, our new promotional platform - ‘One Aftermarket One Future’ - appears to be working extremely well for us. It is vibrant, eye catching and effective at delivering a simplicity of message. Well that’s certainly the feedback we’re getting from our UK aftermarket partners."

So what is in store for the second half of the year? “We have a number of exciting initiatives that we are working on, one of the most significant being the introduction of an electronic-based application system for oils and lubes, not to mention the introduction of web-based online parts ordering. We are also in the process of reviewing our packaging and this will entail not only delivering the ACDelco brand with increased dynamism, it will take in the introduction of more informative labelling. Not for the first time in our recent history, once again it is a case of watch this space," concludes Quinney.
