mufin appoints Music Industry Executive Boris Löhe as President

mufin, the developer of semantic audio technology for music recommendation and music recognition, today announced that Boris Löhe, former Managing Director at Sony Entertainment Germany, is joining the mufin team as President.

With over 20 years experience in the music record industry, Löhe was Managing Director of Mercury, Island & Def Jam, part of the Universal Music Group, prior to leading Sony’s domestic division in Germany. Löhe played an integral leading role in building Sony’s and Universal’s German divisions, and was responsible for artist strategy, label relations as well as consumer and product marketing initiatives. He brings extensive knowledge of the music industry to mufin, combined with proven marketing expertise.

“I am delighted to be joining mufin at this exciting time. The subject of music does not only inspire the imagination of big players such as Google, Apple or Nokia, but also a variety of creative Entrepreneurs, like the makers of Simfy, Spotify or Beyond Oblivion", says Löhe. “There are various topics mufin can contribute to, such as music visualization, sound-based music recommendation and music monitoring.“

Jürgen Jaron, CEO of MAGIX Group, the parent company of mufin and its co-founder, adds: “Boris is an excellent addition to mufin. His knowledge about the needs of the music industry, his marketing expertise and ability to initiate and perform high-level projects is vital for our further development towards becoming the leading developer of semantic music technology.
