The Best Sounds of the Last Decade for Music Software - MAGIX Best of Soundpool Collection

MAGIX Best of Soundpool Collection features the decade’s best music software sound loops in a single package. This 6 GB DVD includes more than 6,000 professionally produced musical building blocks, also known as loops, all hand-selected, licensed and royalty-free.

This package includes every music genre that has been popular during the past 10 years: rock/alternative, hip hop, disco, house, techno, chillout and even movie score. You´ll also find loops ofevery important instrument needed for composing songs: drums, guitars, synths, strings, vocals, brass, effects, and keyboards. These loops can be used in all MAGIX music software, in addition to any other music program.

A lot has changed in the past decade, but Michael Rubner, MAGIX Senior Content Manager, and his team are still the masterminds behind the Soundpool series.

A short interview with Michael Rubner:

Q: The "Best of Soundpool Collection" package promises "the finest selection of the past 10 years". How did you go about choosing the sounds and loops for this collection?

A: Popular music tastes have obviously changed in the course of the last decade, so we excluded anything that seemed outdated. But as we browsed through our material, we discovered and kept a lot of sounds that are still just as much fun as when they were initially produced.

Q: The so-called "retro trend" remains unchanged: How did you account for that when deciding on which sounds to include in the collection?

A: We selected those sounds that embody the typical sound from back in the day. Despite this, or perhaps precisely for this reason, they sound particularly fresh. There are countless examples: Many current dance productions use typical house chords.. And I´m sure everyone remembers the organ from Crystal Waters hits; you´ll find similar ones in our best of collection.

Q: Okay, MAGIX has always been the leader when it comes to dance music, but do you have examples from other genres?

A: Yes, current hip-hop songs use synth lines from the 90s, examples of which you´ll find in our collection. Or take chillout, which became popular in the 90s thanks to the "Café del Mar" compilations; it will stay in demand according to our user feedback. So, of course, we´ve included the core chillout sounds. The same holds true for ambient. Some things simply don´t go out of style.

Q: For a few years now, you´ve been including rock music in your compilations. Does the Best of Collection feature rock sounds as well?

A: We´ve been including the rock genre in our compilations since the 90s. Rock music is experiencing a revival, ACDC and the Scorpions just released new albums, for example. These sounds were part of our collections back then and remain so today.

By the way: You can use the sounds featured in the Best of Collection in any program that supports WAV files, no matter whether PC or MAC. This way, you can use them not only in your MAGIX Music Maker, but also in any other music software.
