Bookies Quick to Back The Hayemaker in ‘Battle of Britain’

Bookmakers are predicting a knock-out performance from David Haye after he announced that he will be going toe-to-toe with Audley Harrison in the biggest ‘Battle of Britain’ since Lewis v Bruno in 1993.

The ‘Hayemaker’ will face Harrison in the second defence of his WBA Heavyweight title at Manchester’s MEN Arena on November 13 and Gaming Supermarket has found that the betting markets are already expecting a big performance from the 29-year-old.

Haye has been set at a best price of 1/7 in the early betting by Bet365, with Harrison out to a staggering 28/1 with Coral. The draw is at 40/1 generally.

Haye’s current record stands at 24 wins and one loss whilst 38-year-old Harrison, who shot to fame by winning the Olympic Gold Medal in 2000, boasts a 27-4 record.

In his last fight, Haye became only the second man to stop American John Ruiz whilst Harrison won last year’s Prizefighter tournament.

Haye is best price 4/9 with Bet365 and Boylesports to win by KO, TKO or disqualification and 9/2 with Stan James to win on a judge’s decision.

In the rounds betting, Sky Bet are offering even money on Haye stopping his challenger within the first six rounds and 15/2 that he defends his crown in rounds 1-4.

Those punters expecting an even swifter conclusion to the bout can get 7/1 with the same bookmaker that Haye takes victory in the first round and a relatively low 18/1 that he wins the fight within 60 seconds.
