Baby Dan wins international award for innovative design
At Kind + Jugend, the world’s leading fair for the baby and toddler outfitting sector, Baby Dan won the top award in the furniture category. Baby Dan’s new all-in-one crib, baby sitter and high chair was awarded first prize as the most innovative product – because of its functional and simple design and inventive concept.
Angel, Baby Dan’s new creation, unites the features of a crib, baby sitter and high chair in one piece of furniture – and this concept won the award for the most innovative product at the international baby outfitting fair in Cologne.
“We are very pleased with this recognition which we hope will contribute to giving Baby Dan’s furniture range an international boost," says Baby Dan’s Sales Director Søren Pjengaard who received the award at the fair.
Among 213 products entered in seven categories, Angel won the coveted Innovation Award in the furniture category. The 3-in-1 concept is completely new in the baby and children’s furniture market and provides both financial and space savings for families with children – who will also be impressed by the simple, Scandinavian design.
Simple design – great functionality
Angel has been designed by G9 Design, the Norwegian design bureau, in partnership with Baby Dan, and can be used from newborn to school age. The same piece of furniture contains a crib, baby sitter and high chair. The basic element is a simple, A-shaped frame on which individual parts can be clicked on and off in one simple movement. This makes it easy to take Angel out on the go as individual parts can be folded up into a compact package that takes up a minimum amount of space. Angel is simple and functional in style. Its design is calm, almost floats and creates a safe atmosphere around the baby regardless of which of the three functions is being used.
Crib, baby sitter and high chair in one
The first step is the crib for the newborn baby. It has carrying handles and can easily and safely be placed on the frame, dismantled and folded away again when it needs to be transported. The crib is certified to EU standard EN1466.
The second step is the baby sitter where the baby sits when the baby is resting or eats baby food for the first time – the seat height is adaptable so that the baby can be fed at the dinner table. The bouncy chair can also be set to a horizontal position in one movement. Security is prioritised here too; the baby sitter is certified to EU standard EN12790:2009.
The final step is the high chair which allows the baby to sit at the table. The bar can quickly be mounted or dismantled without the need for tools. If the chair is needed for another child, the seat can easily be turned 180 degrees away from the foot rest or the foot rest can be dismantled completely. This means that the high chair, which is certified to EU standard EN14988:2006, can be adapted to each child’s development and easily be adapted to several children.
