500 take on pink aerobics challenge in Hyde Park to kick start Breast Cancer Awareness Month
On Sunday 3 October 2010 hundreds of women and men braved the rain and mud to take part in Pink Aerobics in London’s Hyde Park, hoping to raise £100k for Breast Cancer Campaign.
The wet weather didn´t dampen the spritis of participants, who enjoyed three hours of outdoor Pink Aerobics to mark the beginning of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Ali Bastian, Soap actress and star of Strictly Come Dancing, said: “Pink Aerobics in London’s Hyde Park was a fun-filled afternoon of dance-led aerobics and the crowd got fit whilst raising vital funds for breast cancer research. Breast cancer is a disease which has sadly affected two of my relatives and more needs to be done to help find a cure and save lives."
Selaine Saxby, Founder of Pink Aerobics said: “Thank you to everyone who took part in this year’s Pink Aerobics, particularly to the presenters (Troy Dureh, Jo Parry, Cherry Baker and Beko Kaygee) who taught a fantastic mix of classes which kept everyone jumping around for the full three hours in really wet conditions! If you missed out on this year’s event, save the date for next year’s Pink Aerobics on Sunday 2 Oct 2011, you can pre-register at
http://www.pinkaerobics.com Â… see you next year!"
