Ashampoo® HDD Control 2: A better security for your data!

Ashampoo HDD Control 2 permanently monitors internal and external hard drive(s) and therefore helps to prevent a possible data disaster.
Ashampoo HDD Control 2 supports all common IDE and serial ATA hard drives as well as external USB hard drives and solid state drives (SSDs). The software provides information on the status of hard drive(s) and also on their performance, temperature and supported features. Furthermore the software supports the S.M.A.R.T self-test to check for electric and mechanic problems of hard drive(s) as well as the adjustment of the noise level and the power management.
If the software recognizes a possible failure of hard drive(s), it will notify the user of the possible failure early.

Power management and noise level control:
With Ashampoo HDD Control 2 it’s possible to control and adjust the noise level using the Automatic Acoustic Management (AAM) and the power management of the drive heads using the Advanced Power Management (APM) - if supported by the hard drive(s).

Determining and comparison of performance results:
The integrated benchmark function in Ashampoo HDD Control 2 determines the performance of the hard drive(s) and provides a clear, graphic overview of the performance evaluation and information on data transfer rates and access times. An online query enables the comparison of benchmark results with those of other users with the same hard drive model.

Efficient hard drive maintenance and fully-automatic defragmentation:
Ashampoo HDD Control 2 offers several modules for a comfortable hard drive maintenance. A graphic analysis shows the disc usage of the hard drive(s) and partitions. The modules, Drive Cleaner and Internet Cleaner, find and delete redundant files and Internet traces. Unnecessary files and folders can be destroyed irreversibly using different deletion methods.
A regular defragmentation maintains the health of the hard drive(s). The integrated defragmentation module in Ashampoo HDD Control 2 uses among the common methods the so-called "proactive" defragmentation. This method makes use of work breaks to analyze the level of disk fragmentation and does a fully automatic defragmentation.
This range of services of Ashampoo HDD Control 2 is completed by a maintenance function in a module for data recovery, in which accidently deleted files and folders can be restored, if they weren’t destroyed with the internal data shredder.
