Road Ace or Driving Disgrace? CarDelMar Launches an Alternative International Driving Test
Car hire broker creates novel quiz on strange international road rules
Customs and manners in other countries can often seem strange to us but some foreign driving rules are simply incomprehensible. Just to name a few examples, if a driver stops at a zebra crossing in China they risk receiving a fine and it’s against the law to slam a car door in Switzerland. The lawmakers in Memphis, Tennessee, don’t appear to be too in favour of having women behind the wheel there given that they are only permitted to drive if a man runs in front of the car and waves a red flag as a warning to other road users! With the help of the car hire broker, CarDelMar, holidaymakers can now test and improve their knowledge of these international driving rules using an exciting new game.
The company has produced a clever quiz, accessible from their homepage or at http://www.cardelmar.co.uk/service/international-drivingtest.jsp, on weird and wonderful driving rules from around the world. By answering eight questions, drivers can test their knowledge and assess how familiar they are with some of the strangest foreign driving laws.
Players can opt to take the test as one of several different characters: as a cool geezer, whose high horsepower and handbrake turns leave the female species doting on his every move, or a new yuppie, who feels most at home driving first class cars and relaxing at the golf club. Those who’d prefer to cruise around in a convertible as a Chihuahua-petting glamour girl can fulfill their dream too. There are a total of six entertaining characters available to choose from.
“Since CarDelMar started some five years ago, it has repeatedly hit the headlines with original promotions. This quiz helps us to make people more aware of the various driving rules around the world, but, first and foremost, it’s a great deal of fun!" explains Carsten Greiner, Managing Director of CarDelMar. The fun doesn’t have to be short lived as different questions are drawn at random from a large stock each time you play.
Since 2005, CarDelMar has been offering holidaymakers low-cost hire cars with all-inclusive packages. To make this possible, it collaborates with well-known international car hire suppliers such as Alamo, Avis, Europcar and local car rental providers. All hire car offers from CarDelMar are available to book through some travel agencies or directly on the website http://www.cardelmar.co.uk.
