Good hygiene and clean design

Now the dishcloth gets its very own place: inside the kitchen sink without being in the way. The scouring pad and washing-up brush also wave goodbye to their roaming lifestyles. Simple and functional solutions for everyday living are the trademark of small, Danish design company Reenberg’s. All products are installed without the use of tools, but with strong magnets – and are just as easy to remove again.

No rancid dishcloths in the kitchen
Simple functionality is what characterises all Reenberg products which are installed using magnets and counter magnets fitted inside the kitchen sink – and are easy to remove again when the sink needs cleaning. “Most of us are familiar with the problem of what to do with the indispensable dishcloth, washing-up brush and scouring pad – which all need to be just at our fingertips, but still out of view so they don’t interfere with the overall impression of the kitchen. With a Reenberg dishcloth rail the dishcloth sits discreetly in the sink and dries," says Line Vilstrup.

“The dishcloth rails are available in steel or flexible plastic so that they can be shaped as required – for example, to a rounded sink. They are also great for smaller sinks where it is important to utilise space as efficiently as possible," explains Line Vilstrup.

Thoroughly tested functionality
Another useful product for the kitchen sink is the magnetic holder for the washing-up brush which otherwise has a habit of flitting about the place – usually on the kitchen worktop or at the bottom of the sink where it constantly needs to be moved. The brush holder sits discreetly inside the kitchen sink and – despite its depth of only 2.5 cm – it also has room for a kitchen scouring pad. Both brush and pad dry quickly in the holder which limits the growth of bacteria.

"We have carried out a wide range of tests to ensure that the holder works in practice – that the washing-up brush is easy to put down and pick up again quickly, that the scouring pad is held securely in place, but still gets the air it needs to dry, that no limescale builds up anywhere, etc. Functionality is vital – because these are things we use every day," says Line Vilstrup.

The simple solution to oven gloves and tea towels
Strong magnets are also a simple solution to a number of other everyday problems. The most powerful magnetic hooks can be used, for example, for oven gloves on the side of the oven, for tea towels, aprons, wet rubber gloves in the kitchen, on the refridgerator, freezer, washing machine, etc. All metal surfaces around the house are useable – including radiators and water pipes.

"People are surprised about how powerful the magnets are. They are very different to standard fridge magnets and strong enough to hang things on so old water pipes in the bathroom, for example, can double up as surfaces for hanging flannels, sponges, etc. We have spent a great deal of time experimenting with the magnets to find out how strong they need to be to hold something securely, but still be easy to remove again," explains inventor Line Vilstrup from Reenberg´s.

Flexibility is crucial. Each hook takes a weight of up to 225 grams, but can still quickly be removed and attached somewhere else. This means tea towels can be moved to wherever they are needed – and it is very easy to move the hooks around as required.

Facts
The plastic hooks and the dishcloth rails come in traditional colours such as white, red, grey and black as well as lime green and pink for more colourful interior designs.

All Reenberg products are surface-treated to ensure that the powerful industrial magnets do not corrode. Only food-grade plastic is used which is designed for contact with water and groceries.
