Make 2011 a year to remember with a once in a lifetime trek to Peru

Breast Cancer Campaign is calling on all adventure-seekers across the UK to sign up for the trip of a lifetime at this year’s exclusive trek to the mystical ruins of Machu Picchu in October.

If you’re celebrating a milestone birthday and want to mark the occasion with an unforgettable experience, or if you’d like to achieve a big ambition this year, then why not join Campaign’s 10-day adventure and make 2011 your year?

The trek runs from 1-10 October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, making it the perfect time to support the charity. It’s an intense challenge as you trek between four and eight hours per day, but the reward is that you will take in breathtaking views of Cusco, the ancient Inca capital, the famous Lares hot springs and the magnificent ruins of Machu Picchu.

The charity has 20 places available and all participants need to register by Sunday 1 May. Kelly Walton, Events Executive at Breast Cancer Campaign, said: “Over the years our supporters have trekked to Peru to celebrate all sorts of occasions such as their 40th, 50th, even 60th birthdays! Some participants even took part as a personal challenge to inspire them to lose weight and get fit. Whatever your reason, we’d love you to join our team and I guarantee you will return home with many unforgettable memories."

She added: “Peru is one of our most popular treks so please sign up today and don’t miss your chance to enjoy the many wonders of Peru while raising money to help Campaign continue funding world-class breast cancer research."

This year around 48,000 people in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer and sadly approximately 12,000 will die from this disease. So if you have would like to make a difference to the lives of all those affected by breast cancer, please sign up for Machu Picchu and show your support.
