OLM Systems Select IBM to Deliver a Step Change in Quality

OLM Systems, part of OLM Group and the UK’s largest independent supplier of software solutions for Children’s and Adult Services, is working with IBM (NYSE: IBM) to lead the market in terms of software quality.

As the leading technology provider to Adult and Children’s Services, OLM Systems provide mission critical solutions that enable the protection of the vulnerable. Over the past two years, significant focus and investment has gone into enhancing the quality of the solutions they provide and develop. OLM Systems has moved to agile development (an iterative and incremental software development methodology) to allow testing to take place throughout the development cycle.

This focus has been successful in delivering over a 40% increase in product quality over the last two releases. OLM Systems customers have recognised and praised the enhanced quality that our latest software releases have delivered. A recent customer satisfaction survey showed that 84% of respondents felt product quality had improved in the last 12 months.

Building on this success, OLM Systems wanted to significantly outperform its competitors in quality. Extensive internal research concluded that a set of development tools which would fully support their agile development processes was required to achieve their business growth targets. A detailed set of criteria was developed by OLM Systems outlining the suite of development tools required. After a comprehensive review of the marketplace, OLM Systems selected IBM’s Rational Toolset as the best fit solution.
