Choose the right relay to avoid the burning of your motor

Fanox has got the widest range of Electronic Overload Protection relays for Motors in the market. Fanox has the right relay for every situation and scenario. Level of protection can be set on each relay depending on the priority and importance of each motor. Motors in continuous use with few starts and stops are treated differently from motors constantly started and stopped.

The latter are more complex to protect, as they are more prone to motor burnouts. Hence it is important to select the tight type of relay for each scenario to properly avoid outage on important industrial processes and the cost of rewinding or replacement of motors.

The OD system, used in our relays, is also unique in the market. As an optional accessory, it gives information about the relay status from the exterior of the panel. It allows operators to monitor and reset the relay from the exterior of the electrical panel board, and is highly suitable for Motor Control Centers (MCC’s) and any other type switchgear and panel boards.

Sudden starts and stops, that can produce damages in the bearings and gears of the motors, are eliminated. They prevent frequent faults and objects falling onto conveyer belts.

They reduce mechanical impact in motors, axles, gears and belts, significantly prolonging the operating life of the controlled units. An electronic circuit with semiconductors starts the motor without using the contacts. Hence these do not withstand sparks or erosion.

When the minimal voltage of the motor is reached the semiconductors are bypassed by the relay contacts. Thanks to this technology, the ES starters have a longer operating life than conventional contactors. They are easy to install and control. They can operate by means of an external control signal, such as a programmable automation.
