University rises up the Times Good University league table

The University of Surrey is delighted to have risen to 29th place in the Times Good University Guide this week reflecting a steady rise up the league table.

The University jumped three places from last year’s table. The Times Good University Guide ranks 116 UK universities according to eight criteria, including student satisfaction, research quality and degree results.

Surrey has 9 subjects in the Top 10 of the Times Good University Guide with yet again Tourism and Hospitality coming at first place across the country. Other highlights are Electrical & Electronic Engineering which rose one place to 2nd in the country with Sociology maintaining a high score – up one place to 3rd- and Food Science up one to 2nd.

Professor Chris Snowden, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Surrey, said: “This improvement is further evidence of the University’s continual improvement in the league tables and its commitment to maintaining teaching excellence and improving the University experience for students.

“Surrey graduates have the strongest track record of employability in the country, helped in part by the Professional Training Year which the majority of our students take part in. All these factors make Surrey a very attractive option for those considering place of study for their degree."

In May, the University of Surrey rose one place in the Guardian newspaper’s University league table to 19th place.
