And the Sauna World Cup 2011 goes to Italy
Last weekend the third Sauna World Cup took place, this time in Graz. For two days candidates from twelve different nations fought for the titel "Sauna World Champion 2011".
You could enjoy a wide variety of sauna “Aufguss", steam room infusions, “Aufguss" courses, and a midnight sauna with live music. Austria, Germany, Italy, England, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, Bosnia, Colombia, China, Russia and USA competed against each other and outplayed themselves with shows such as "The Aufguss of Arab women" or "Gladiator Aufguss." Helmut Haller thrilled the audience with his “Inca Aufguss" and took the win. The criterion is not how long you can stay in the Sauna. Pleasure, enjoyment and the technique of waving the towel in the sauna.
"Powerwacheln" is the fun competition of the Sauna World Cup. The goal is to generate the highest wind speed with a conventional towel: The winner is Alberto Longon (IT)with a wind speed of 7,9 m/s.
Owner of the Sauna Word Cup is the Association “Internationaler Verein zu Förderung der Sauna und Wellnesskultur", founded in 2009 and based in Vienna
