Story.ie One to Watch for New Irish Authors
One Productions, the integrated communications agency, has tipped Story.ie the magazine and website supporting new Irish authors for success after it received over 4,000 votes and took the number one slot in a recent online public vote for best arts project through the Arthur Guinness Projects website.
Story.ie, a free monthly magazine and website will feature the best in new talent on the literary scene in Ireland. What makes the concept so innovative is its format. Instead of printing each story in full, Story.ie will print the first page in the magazine and release the rest on the website to encourage readers to log on and finish the story.
Tom Hopkins, Owner, One Productions commented: “The idea behind Story.ie is to bring a modern Irish take on popular genres and to increase the volume of popular Irish writing available for free to the public. Each month is themed with stories across multiple genres for example The Mystery Issue, The Love Issue and The Sci-Fi Issue. The magazine will be distributed free, first at national third-levels, then via wider distribution to coffee shops, libraries, commuter and public waiting areas."
There is huge public support on the novel concept as well as from industry peers in the literary scene, with interest from writing.ie, the resource website for Irish writers. The concept is close to launch and will go live once full funding is achieved.
