SallingPlast to supply 30 giant branch saddles for project in Bangladesh
One of SallingPlast's customers for many years, Pipelife has won a large contract for delivery of approx. 6,800 meters of PE pipes in Ø2300 mm for power plant in Matarbari, Bangladesh. The pipes will be used for cooling water for the plant located between Chittagong and Cox's Bazar on the southeast coast of Bangladesh.
The pipes are extruded directly into the open sea at Pipelife's factory in Stathelle, Norway, and then transported by tugboat all the way to Bangladesh. The delivery of pipes consists of 12 pipe lengths.
As a subcontractor, SallingPlast must deliver 30 pcs. specially developed electric welding saddles in Ø2300 with a collar branch in Ø1200 mm. SallingPlast are the only company in the world that produce this type of saddle, and perhaps the only ones that can make collared branches in these sizes. "This is one of the biggest saddle so far delivered by SallingPlast," says Kim Stubbergaard Reese Head of Sales of the SallingPlast Aqua division. “We are very proud to be part of this unique delivery to Bangladesh. We have worked with Pipelife for many years, and together we have developed these saddles, which are unique in the market.”
In connection with the production of the welding saddles, SallingPlast will make use of their new 5-axis CNC milling system, which can handle items up to 12.0 x 4.0 x 2.3 m.
Delivery will take place during 2020, SallingPlast's share of the project constitutes a minor part, but the functionality of the product delivered is an important factor for the overall project.
